Lesson purpose

Teach edge banding as the joint between board core and surface finish. Standard, PUR and laser approaches should be explained by glue line, visual neatness, moisture resistance expectation, production method and suitable project priority. The lesson should keep absolute claims out and remind dealers that final specification controls the project.

How to teach it to a customer

If the customer says the standard edge looks enough, do not argue. Ask where the cabinets will be used, which edges are most visible and how strongly the customer values a cleaner edge detail. Then connect the upgrade only to that priority.

Common mistake

The mistake is saying laser edge is always necessary or that PUR makes every panel waterproof. This can create trust risk and after-sales pressure later.

Practice task

Prepare a two-minute explanation using one material image, one price difference and one risk boundary sentence.

Video and workbook slot

This lesson is ready as written course content. Add the YouTube lecture link after the class-style video is produced. Attach Excel, PDF or checklist files from the admin lesson record only when the real document is available.

Brief communication note

Keep the next step clear, proportionate and actionable.

For the dealer

I want the customer to understand why an edge upgrade costs more, but I must avoid promising impossible waterproof or lifetime performance.

For the client

I see a technical term and a higher price. I need a visible reason, not only factory language.

  • 1Name the customer concern before presenting product facts
  • 2Separate confirmed facts from choices that still need approval
  • 3Use one visual, catalogue page or written record before asking for a decision
  • 4Close with one small next action, owner and date
